ARTIST VOICE

I consider myself as a designer and printmaker. I am fascinated by the high contrast fine graphic lines that the intaglio technique offers us as well as the magic that lies in printmaking. I found my favorite medium drypoint on a card by accident, living in Hobart Tasmania and taking different graphic courses. The love was at first sight when I found this medium due to its endless possibilities to make a mark even after years of practicing, It still keeps giving. I have taken part in different printing workshops at Hunter Island Press in Hobart and in Estonia. I am a member at The Pear Shed Gallery at White Beach as well as a member at a working graphic studio and gallery graafika.ee in Tallinn, Estonia.

My favorite medium is drypoint due to its nontoxic printing method and the possibility to create detailed works. “The medium just keeps giving every time I use it and allows me to experiment with different ideas and textures as well as mixing it with other mediums!”. My favorite subject is nature- Tasmania with rugged coastline weathered by the winds of the roaring forties and the Northern European climate which has moulded the landscape and the people living on it.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design in 2006 in Tallinn, Estonia which gave me the tools to consciously create a space that you enjoy being in.

Since then I have been fascinated by the impact of what the surrounding environment can have on us, including the things like artworks in our homes we see everyday. I believe in our urban society we have gone too far from nature and I hope to bring some nature back to our modern homes by combining my knowledge both in interior design and graphic art.
