LIIS TEDRE

LIVES AND WORKS IN TALLINN, ESTONIA

As an artist, Liis Tedre highly values the tactile experience of holding graphic paper — the feel of its relief, structure, and sensitivity. She creates both traditional flat graphics and works using her own techniques that offer playfulness and unpredictability. Currently, her main techniques include toned cyanotype, relief printing, and eco-friendly etching. Her works are either unique monotypes or editions limited to three copies.

ARTIST VOICE

My works focus on telling playful stories through everyday objects, exploring universal and timeless principles that connect nature and the human world. In my graphic works, there are depicted landscapes in unusual and surprising forms, offering viewers a new perspective on experiencing the world.

In recent years, color has become an increasingly important element in my works. I explore the use of bright colors and modern materials of the contemporary world, seeing in them a hidden aspiration for eternal youth and vitality. At the same time, I highlight signs of environmental wear and decline, inviting viewers to experience the world with sensitivity and respect.
