Lives and works in Saint-Séglin (Ille-et-Vilaine, France).

Gabrielle is working with a variety of materials — concrete, paper, graphite — and mediums — sculpture, drawing, installation. Gabrielle Decazes’ work explores the forms of landscape between geological time and human time.

From an inquiry into the Anthropocene to a poetics of ruin, she develops a reflection on humanity’s imprint on the world, questioning both its origins and its future. Her practice lies at the intersection of mental landscape, architecture, and the natural sciences.

She combines the depiction of archetypal landscape forms with industrial materials, using techniques borrowed from construction, archaeology, garden design, and DIY practices.
